I am searching for proof of the parents of Parrot Evans b. 1802 Anson Co, NC. There is a frustrating document re this Parrot Evans:
Lura Laney Evans signed an affidavit 9/3/1954 Union Co, NC which she stated ...I am 78 yrs of age, b. 1/30/1876 d/o Augustus Alexander Laney & Mary Elizabeth Pistole. Mary Elizabeth Pistole d/of Charles Pistole & Margaret Williams. Margaret Williams d/o William Williams & Lydia Bivens. William Williams s/o Rev Joseph Williams Jr & Martha Parrott. Rev Joseph Williams Jr s/o Joseph Williams Sr & Mary Newborn. All of my knowledge of the Families of Williams, Newborns & Parrotts come from my mother and uncle and aunt. They having lived in the home of their grandfather, William Williams. All had large families. These families came to Anson Co, now Union, from Sampson Co but talked of kin coming from Edgecombe and Bertie Co. I m. to Robert E Evans whose mother (Ann Lucy - his father was Albert Evans 1811-1886 s/o William Evans) talked of a Parrot Evans who was kin to the Williams family but I do not know the connection. If anyone can help me find the parents of JOSEPH PARROTT b. c1800 NC m. to Mida ??? who (by family legend) was full blooded Chickasaw Indian, I would certainly appreciate it and provide data regarding their descendants. There are several Joseph Parrotts mentioned in Parrott wills and some have birth dates close to 1800. Joseph and Mida lived in TN and may have had relations in MO, as their last child, Daniel b. MO. They are on the 1850 Hardin Co, IL census and I have records where they were still in IL as late as 1874 but nothing thereafter. Amanda, Joseph and Mida's daughter, m. Britton H Yarber. Trying to find the parents of MARTHA PARROTT b. 1750 m. c1767 Joseph Williams. They lived in Duplin (now Sampson) Co, NC in 1769. They moved to Anson County, NC c1800 and died there just 72 hrs apart on 7/6/1825 & 7/8/1825. Joseph was the son of Rev. Joseph Williams who, from all reports I have seen married Mary Mewborn/Mewbourne. Joseph and Martha Parrott Williams had sons named Parrott, Newborn and Lemuel, as well as Hezekiah, Reuben , Enoch, William and daughters, Rebecca and Martha. Henry married (1) Sally Parker (2) Nancy Herring; Hezekiah m. Eunice Herring and Parrott m. Rhoda Herring, sisters and daughters of Joseph Herring of Sampson County.
