Curtis Claiborne, 87, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Nov 14, 1998
Services will be at 10 am Tuesday in First Baptist Church with Dr Chester O'Brien of First Baptist Church and the Rev Jeff Raines, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S Georgia St.
Mr Claiborne was born in Coleman and moved to Amarillo in 1935. He owned and operated Claiborne and Wauford Refrigeration. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Dr. Jack Walker's Sunday School Class. He also had been a member of Gideons International and Masonic Lodge and was a charter member of the Retired Service Engineers Society.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Bob Claiborne of Bucklin, Mo; his mother, Carmel Claiborne of Coleman; two brothers, Jim Claiborne of Clovis, NM, and Harold Claiborne of Coleman; and a grandchild.
The family requests memorials be to Gideons International Memorial Bible Fund, 1300 S Harrison St, Amarillo, TX 79101-4264.
